Why “Making Manna”?

In the Old Testament, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, where they wandered the desert for forty years. What did they eat? We are told:

“… thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor. When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, “It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat…. The people of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey. (Exodus 16:13-15, 31)

Sadly, in our world, manna doesn’t come from heaven. We need to make our own. The people in this book make manna in their own ways, sometimes figuratively, sometimes literally. Read it to find out.
